- 6 processes of the human body
- A) Metabolism– the sum of all chemical processes
- Catabolism– breakdown of complex chemical substances
- Anabolism- build up of complex chemical substances
- B) Responsiveness- detect and respond to changes
- C) Movement- any movement from internal to external
- D) Growth- an increase in body size resulting from an increase in size of existing cells or number of existing cells.
- E) Differentiation- development of a cell from unspecialised to specialised eg stem cells or egg to baby
- F) Reproduction- Formation of new cells for repair or a whole human
When any of these fails to work there is cell loss and death
